About the project
The economic boom currently taking place in Rwanda is reaching far from all of its inhabitants. Poverty and lack of educational opportunities affect girls and young women in particular.
terre des hommes is working with the local women’s football club, WFC Rambura, in the province of the same name in the north of the country. The junior teams reach about 70 girls under 17 years.
Beyond sport in itself, competence training and career guidance sessions are offered that help the girls to open up new prospects for their lives. In addition, the project includes activities to promote good health.
Activities:
- Support to football training
- Information and education on health topics
- Career guidance
- Scholarships for vocational training
